Arranged Employment

Employers can make a job offer to the Skilled Worker to fill a full time, permanent position in their company. This will support worker's application for immigrating to Canada as a Permanent Resident. The Skilled Worker can apply for permanent residency to CIC and can gain additional points for having a permanent job offer.

Employer will make a permanent job offer in a skilled occupation to the Skilled Worker and submit an application for a Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC) Arranged Employment Opinion (AEO).

A positive AEO supports the immigration of a Skilled Worker to Canada but does not allow the person to work in Canada before receiving the Permanent Resident status in Canada.

An Arranged Employment Opinion (AEO) is based on the following factors:

· The job offer is permanent;

· The job offer is genuine;

· The wages and working conditions offered for the job are comparable to those offered to Canadians working in the occupation;

· The employment is full-time, not seasonal.

HRSDC will review the application and if appropriate, will provide the Employer with an AEO letter of confirmation supporting the job. Employer will then send a copy of the job offer and AEO letter to the Skilled Worker.

The Skilled Worker will submit an application for Permanent Resident visa to the appropriate CIC office and include the written permanent job offer and the AEO letter of confirmation with the permanent resident application, along with other documentation. This will improve the Skilled Worker's score and the opportunity to receive a permanent resident visa.

Skilled Worker has to meet all the requirements of the Skilled Worker class and must have at least one year of work experience in a professional, managerial, or technical occupation under Canada's National Occupational Classification (NOC) system.
